How To Get White Men On Board With Diversity And Inclusion Efforts

Source: Forbes

Author: Janice Gassam

Questions for Discussion:

  1. The E&Y report says that 49% of respondents felt white men were excluded from diversity programs. Did this number surprise you? Why or why not?
  2. Do you feel like the "case" for diversity and inclusion has been effectively made to (straight, cis) white men? What about cis gay men? If you had to make the argument for the importance of inclusion to someone who thinks it isn't for them, how would you do it?
  3. One of the suggestions the author makes is that white men should hold their peers accountable for their behavior. Is this effective? What suggestions would you have for someone who would like to hold others accountable for exclusionary behavior?
