Questions for Discussion:

  1. Do the findings of the research outlined in this article surprise you? Why or why not?

  2. A member of the research team noted that younger LGBTQ+ people and older LGBTQ+ people often disagree on the source of discrimination that the community faces. Why do you think that is the case? How might this difference of opinion impact the work that your organization does to move equality forward?

  3. Have you, or somehow you care about, ever avoided seeing the doctor, calling the police, participating in an election, or using a public restroom because of the fear of experiencing discrimination? If you feel comfortable sharing, how did that make you feel? Have you ever shared this experience with people before? Why or why not?
