Questions for Discussion:

  1. If you have watched Sex Education, has there been a character that stood out because it is the first time you’ve seen someone like that on TV? If you have not, is there a character or show that comes to mind? How did seeing that character portrayed on screen make you feel?

  2. Actor Ncuti Gawa seems to make an argument for “ticking boxes” to ensure that diverse voices are heard because “they playing fields are not level.” Do you agree or disagree? Why?

  3. As we celebrate and commemorate Black History Month this February, what impact do you think the increase of Black, openly LGBTQ+ characters in TV and movies has on young people? Families? The Black community? The LGBTQ+ community?
